The eagle was first used in the Great Seal of the United States on June 20th, 1782. It wasn't until 1789 that the eagle became the official symbol of the United States. The eagle was chosen due to its long life, strength, freedom, and particularly, for being a BAMF.

Historians recount one of the early battles of the Revolutionary War. The sound of the battle awoke nearby bald eagles nesting in the mountains. As the eagles swooped down upon the battlefield and cried loudly, "shrieking for freedom." (Insert theme song for "Team America" here. You are mowing singing the song aloud. You're welcome.)

The olive branch held in the right talon is a symbol of America's desire for peace. In the left talon, 13 arrows representing the original 13 colonies, symbolize America's steadfast readiness for war. On the official United States seal, the eagle is looking toward the olive branch, as a preference to peace. This shirt specifically depicts the eagle looking toward the arrows, as a sign of strength, power, and support for our military personnel currently deployed in conflicts throughout the world.
