Chicago Fire Department Captain David Meyer tragically lost his life in the line of duty serving the citizens of Chicago on April 23, 2025 while fighting a structure fire in the Austin area of Chicago.
Captain Meyer was a 29-year veteran of the Chicago Fire Department, and a beloved and respected leader, friend, and mentor. He voluntarily spent his career working at some of the busiest fire houses in the city.Â
Captain Meyer leaves behind a wife, daughters, and a son. In collaboration with IAFF Local 2, proceeds from the sale of these Hero Tees will be donated in support of Captain Meyer's family.Â
